Maryville teen escapes harm to pursue dream of being a firefighter
Nineteen-year-old special-education student Shelby Williams has always dreamed of working in a fire station. Overcoming formidable challenges, Shelby recently got the news that she’ll be able to attend Elgin Community College to work on a two-year associate degree and her goal of becoming a firefighter.
